ASPAYM CyL is carrying out testing of the D3PO project throughout different stages during the months of September and October. The place chosen for the tests has been the Neurological Rehabilitation Unit -ICTIA, due to its extensive experience in the treatment of neurological damage.
In the first stage, reduced preliminary tests have been carried out focused on identifying the main manipulation problems with the puzzles, choosing the users who were most likely to complete the exercises. These tests generated feedback to correct materials that have been taken into account for subsequent phases.
After this preliminary stage, a workshop was organized with several patients from the day center on October 23, focused on fine motor exercise. It was decided to solve the puzzles in group mode.
The main corrections to the puzzles were integrated in the session on October 25. It was decided to make groups of elderly patients with difficulty in movement due to neurological damage. Special aids in the form of a track were integrated to facilitate the development of the activities and 2 hours were granted to carry out the activity.
On the occasion of National Brain Injury Day, a third session has also been organized to expand the tests and check if the changes made are consolidated in the results. Throughout these sessions, more than 20 unit tests have been carried out and it is expected to continue collecting information throughout the month and later in the first two weeks of November.
The puzzles tested were “Shahriar’s Palace”, “The Cave of Wonders”, “Colapesce”, “The Last Voyage of Our Lady of Mercy”, “The Search for Moscow Gold” and “Fogaça”.
