Consortium is pleased to announce the successful culmination of the D3PO project consortium’s efforts, reaching completion by the end of January 2023 and yielding numerous achievements.
Initiated in spring 2022, the project commenced with comprehensive training for partner staff in Additive Manufacturing (3D modeling) techniques and related aspects concerning the design of a 3D escape puzzle. Collaboratively, partners developed 10 therapeutic puzzle concepts, each accompanied by a unique storyline.
Throughout the puzzle development process, careful consideration was given to the biosciences and functionalities of individuals with mental disorders or motor difficulties, facilitating mental and physical exercise.
The overarching aim of the project is to establish an inclusive learning environment based on game mechanics through 3D-printable puzzles. A professional manual has been crafted to guide users in assembling and disassembling the puzzles, with all puzzle components printable on any 3D printer and available for download from the project website.
Extensive testing of the 3D puzzles involved over 100 individuals, spanning from elderly individuals with motor difficulties to those with mental illnesses and specific learning disorders.
The project team is enthusiastic about the accessibility and potential impact of the materials produced, aiming to positively influence numerous individuals in innovative ways. To stay updated and explore further opportunities, please visit the project’s Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages.
