IDEC S.A. introduced two captivating puzzles named “Flying the Flag” and “The Exit Within” which we pilot tested during May, June, and July of 2023 with more than 20 persons taking part in it!

Both puzzles target individuals with learning disabilities.

“Flying the Flag” takes the form of a cryptex, while “The Exit Within” challenges participants with a maze, both specifically designed to engage and stimulate cognitive abilities.

IDEC organized an additional pilot session in October 2023.

This session featured a puzzle titled “Colapesce,” a creation of our Italian partner CEIPES ETS.

This 3D jigsaw puzzle incorporated pieces resembling the island of Sicily standing on pillars. Participants were not only tasked with assembling the puzzle pieces but also had to construct pillars in a jigsaw-like manner, adding an extra layer of complexity to the therapeutic experience.

The four pilot sessions conducted proved to be instrumental in assessing the effectiveness of these 3D-printed puzzles.

Participants, including individuals with learning disabilities, engaged enthusiastically with the puzzles, showcasing their potential as valuable educational tools.

The feedback received from these sessions was very positive. Participants expressed a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment, highlighting the engaging nature of the puzzles.

The puzzles not only succeeded in their educational objectives but also managed to captivate the interest and attention of the participants throughout the sessions.

The success of the pilot sessions allowed IDEC to gather valuable insights and feedback from participants.

This information was crucial in making necessary adjustments and fine-tuning the puzzles for optimal effectiveness. The consortium’s commitment to refining the puzzles based on user experience demonstrates the project’s dedication to creating meaningful and impactful educational tools.

The D3PO project has showcased the transformative power of 3D-printed puzzles in educational settings.

Through pilot sessions conducted in 2023, participants with learning disabilities experienced the benefits of these innovative tools, and their positive feedback paved the way for continuous improvement. As D3PO continues to evolve its puzzle offerings, the project stands as a testament to the potential of collaborative educational initiatives in shaping a brighter and more inclusive future.
